Appeal of participants of the 5th international congress "The cultural legacy of Uzbekistan: the foundation of a new renaissance" to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev

HOW TO BECOME A FRIEND OF THE WORLD SOCIETY?

Appeal of participants of the 5th international congress "The cultural legacy of Uzbekistan: the foundation of a new renaissance" to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Dear Mr. President,

We, the participants of the 5th International Congress "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan: the Foundation of a New Renaissance", members of the World Society for the Preservation, Study and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan, cultural workers, scholars, educators, journalists, and filmmakers represent different countries and organizations, but we are all united by a common interest and love for the cultural legacy and history of the country you lead - the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This year Uzbekistan celebrated a significant date - the 30th anniversary of the country's independence. The anniversary became an occasion for summing up results and defining future priorities. We fully share your position aimed at large-scale and cardinal reforms carried out by you in the country, including in the field of science and culture.

It is deeply respected that the national idea proclaimed by you, aimed at creating conditions for the Third Renaissance in Uzbekistan, is based primarily on a well-thought-out cultural policy. It is culture that is the basis for the revival of the country, the rise of the spirituality of society and the upbringing of patriotism of the people, especially, the younger generation. Owing to systemic reforms in the field of national culture in Uzbekistan, a large-scale restoration and study of ancient monuments are taking place, scientific and educational work is receiving a new impetus and folk art is supported at the state level, as well as the preservation of intangible heritage.

The country's policy aimed at preserving this legacy is truly remarkable. In recent years, it has undergone dramatic changes, which required a truly titanic effort on your part. Your personal attention and care of the achievements of ancestors, the preservation and enhancement of their experience is an example for all of us.

Every year, you initiate unique initiatives aimed at consolidating scientific forces. This year, this initiative is associated with the Cultural Legacy Week uniting the 5th Congress of the World Society "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan: the Foundation of a New Renaissance" and the International Forum "Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations", which will be held in Tashkent, Khiva and Nukus. During this Week, thanks to your initiatives, we are able to sum up the work done and check plans for the future.

We, experts from different countries of the world, Europe, Asia and America, are ready to support your unique initiatives in this field in every possible way. Working in the field of studying the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan, each of us is convinced of the enduring value of the richest culture developed in the territory of Uzbekistan since ancient times, starting from the Bronze Age. The richest spiritual and material legacy of this country is of lasting value for world civilization.

The Forum has become an impetus for us for new ideas and goals that will bring the process of studying and preserving legacy to a new modern level. The worldwide community is sincerely committed to supporting your initiatives. In recent years, our Society has implemented hundreds of publishing, research, media and scientific and educational projects, including a large-scale project to publish fifty illustrated book-albums of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan series. Due to state support, these volumes are published in a circulation of ten thousand copies each and distributed free of charge to scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan, including secondary schools. Work on this series on the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan in museums around the world, the release of documentary and feature films, the holding of scientific forums and the implementation of projects in other areas related to the study of heritage sites continue. We assure you that we are ready, as before, to contribute to the preservation of the cultural legacy of your country.

We hope that our experience, our energy and our ardent desire to help the cultural revival of Uzbekistan will contribute to the reforms you are carrying out, a new Renaissance and the happiness and well-being of the peoples of Uzbekistan!

We wish you, dear Mr. President, further achievements in your multifaceted activities, great and important work on reforming the country, creating a new Uzbekistan!

We wish prosperity and peace to the peoples of the Republic of Uzbekistan!
