Writing is not just a way to express thoughts on paper

HOW TO BECOME A FRIEND OF THE WORLD SOCIETY?

Writing is not just a way to express thoughts on paper

From the 9th and 10th centuries to the beginning of the 20th century, our ancestors created a vast written heritage in Arabic, Persian, and Turkic languages.

The various styles of writing that emerged in Arabic script - khat - were recognized not only as a means of expressing thought in writing but also as works of art that brought the reader great aesthetic pleasure.  This art became widely known in the East as "husnixat," "khattotlik," and in the West as "calligraphy."

The masters of this art - calligraphers or scribes -enjoyed great respect in their time and occupied a place among scholars, writers, and artists.  That is, a calligrapher or scribe was not simply someone who performed a technical task - copying books - but was an important figure in the cultural life of their time, an educator and a significant representative of culture.
