to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Your Excellency, Mr. President

With great excitement, we have listened to your Address to the participants in the 8th International Congress "The Legacy of the Great Ancestors – the Foundation of the Third Renaissance."

We are proud that our modest work has been so highly appreciated, and we sincerely thank you for this! Your warm attitude inspires us to new discoveries and achievements.

We, as your like-minded people, fully support the large-scale reforms carried out in New Uzbekistan, which are rightfully called the Third Renaissance. It is noteworthy that they cover all areas such as education, science, culture and enlightenment. New Uzbekistan is increasingly gaining international authority as one of the centers of science and enlightenment. We fully share your conviction that high spirituality, enlightenment, as well as the study and preservation of the country's cultural heritage are the key to the sustainable development of the state and the creation of a prosperous future.

You have elevated the issues of development of science and art to the level of state policy and are implementing large-scale projects that unite scholars and experts, active representatives of civil society, socially responsible business enterprises, and organizations from many countries of the world. A striking example of this is the World Society for the Preservation, Study and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan, whose members are more than 350 researchers from 40 countries. The result of such cooperation was the unique and one-of-a-kind Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections project, implemented under your personal patronage, 80 volumes of which were presented at our Congress.

Your speech from the high tribune of the UN, in which you noted that the sacred religion of Islam is a religion of goodness and humanism, calling for spiritual enrichment, found broad international support. A striking example of this is the invaluable contribution of the great scientists of the Uzbek land to the development of world civilization. The modern world especially needs such noble calls.

We fully support your initiatives and are ready to become the most active participants in large-scale projects to preserve the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan for world civilization.

That is why this year our Congress was dedicated to your unique authorial mega-project — the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. As part of the Congress, we got acquainted with the majestic buildings of the Center of Islamic Civilization and the Imam al-Bukhari spiritual center, witnessing unprecedented large-scale construction and reconstruction work of unique cultural sites.

The Congress included a presentation of the Road Map of the Center of Islamic Civilization and special exhibitions of books published in New Uzbekistan. The Congress also included an international forum on "The Role of Cinema and Media in Preserving and Popularizing Cultural Legacy", organized in cooperation with the TURKSOY Organization "Enlightenment against ignorance". The Forum presented a socially significant project to create 55 films from the Living History series, initiated on your initiative. Following the results of the TURKSOY Forum, a Memorandum was signed on the creation of a unified film and media platform of the Turkic world countries at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. During the Congress, more than 300 reports, proposals, interviews, statements and presentations aimed at developing joint projects to fill the Center of Islamic Civilization with high-quality content were presented.

We consider it our most important task not only to join the activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization, but also to create a powerful and rapidly developing scientific and cultural platform that will become a bright beacon of enlightenment and knowledge in the East.

This is why we unanimously adopted the Samarkand Declaration and approved projects for our joint activities with the Center of Islamic Civilization and the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan.

More than 150 new projects participated by over 1,000 researchers and scholars from more than 30 countries will provide the world with entirely new knowledge and information about the enormous contribution of Uzbek scholars to the development of world civilization. The scientific discoveries and achievements resulting from these projects will undoubtedly enrich the exhibitions of the Center of Islamic Civilization.

We, the participants of the 8th International Congress, are extremely proud that we are making our contribution to the honorable and responsible work of studying and preserving the great heritage left by outstanding scholars of the past, because the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan is the property of all mankind!
