The "Lazgi and Avesto" Museum will be established on the basis of the building in the Tazmiyaz district of Urgench. A corresponding government decree was adopted in this regard.
This museum operates as a branch of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Uzbekistan. The new museum will serve to convey to the general public the history of the Lazgi dance, which is considered the intangible cultural heritage of Khorezm, as well as the ancient heritage of the "Avesto".
According to the resolution, the main tasks are defined as the formation of the museum fund, the preservation of exhibits, the upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of respect for historical and cultural heritage, as well as the wide attraction of local and foreign tourists. It is also planned to use modern technologies and introduce the experience of world museology in organizing exhibitions.
It is expected that this museum will become one of the important places of educational and tourist significance, presenting the rich cultural heritage of Khorezm in a modern interpretation.
