In 1987, the famous Uzbek artist Abdukhakim Turdiev created a diptych titled "Dedication to Tashkent." This work is dedicated to the theme of the 1966 Tashkent earthquake and consists of two parts, each of which has its own deep philosophical meaning.
1. "Feeling of the heart" — in the first part, the uncertainty that appeared in nature before the earthquake, expressed the feeling of anxiety awakened in people and animals. The mood of waiting for "something to happen" is conveyed through colors and composition;
2. "After the Earthquake" — in the second part, the landscape after the Tashkent earthquake of April 26, 1966, is interpreted not only as ruins but also as the beginning of a new life and the rebirth of the city.
This work is one of the remarkable examples of Uzbek fine art, in which the tragedy is approached not only through the prism of a historical event but also through the lens of human emotions.
