Raboti malik watercourse, compared to the Zamzam spring

On the road from the city of Karmana to the city of Bukhara, now following the ancient caravan route, about 20 kilometers west of the city, there is the Raboti Malik caravanserai - "Padshah Raboti." This structure was built in the 70s of the 11th century by one of the rulers of the Karakhanid dynasty, Shamsulmulk Nasr ibn Ibrahim (1068-1080), and in the first quarter of the 12th century, it was restored by Arslan Khan Muhammad ibn Suleiman (1102-1130), who belonged to the same ruling dynasty.

About thirty meters from the Raboti Malik caravanserai lies a water source - a unique cistern - Sardoba, covered with a dome about 13 meters in diameter, which is a contemporary of the rabot. The round tank penetrated to a depth of 12 meters, and the cool drinking water was kept clean throughout the summer.

A 16th-century author compared the water of the Raboti Malik cistern to the crystal-clear water of the Zamzam spring in Mecca.

One of the main researchers of Raboti Malik interpreted and described the caravanserai as the residence of the rulers of the Karakhanid dynasty in the steppe (N.B. Nemtseva). Nevertheless, this caravanserai fully fulfilled its primary function until the beginning of the 18th century. Sahibkiran Amir Temur, khans from the dynasties that ruled in Bukhara, ambassadors, trade caravans, and travelers stopped at this place.

At the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries, a village, known as "Rabot," existed for a relatively short time around the caravanserai.

On the portal is preserved the following fragment of the kitaba inscription (in Kufic script):

... The Sultan of the World built this beautiful and cozy building for people to stop and rest. This caravanserai, by God's grace, has preserved all its grandeur. The square and terrace of this beautiful building have become a paradise...
