Baburid coins: "MEHROBI"

Early Baburis coins demonstrate the art of remarkable calligraphy.

Akbar minted coins of gold, silver, and copper. Its gold coins were called MUHR, silver coins - RUPIY, and copper coins - DOM. They are mainly round, some are minted in the form of squares.

Akbar's commemorative gold coins were hexagonal, with slightly elongated upper and lower sides. Due to its shape resembling an altar, it was also known as "MEHROBI."

Altar coins are considered one of the best examples of the art of numismatics.
