The forum was dedicated to the pressing issues of preserving cultural heritage in the modern world, including: "Cinema as a Keeper of Heritage: Presenting Cultural Projects and Initiatives," and "Global Media Collaboration: Cross-Cultural Initiatives for Heritage Preservation."
Representatives of the film industry from Turkic-speaking countries participated in the forum, sharing their experiences, advice, and recommendations in the field of film production.
The forum included the presentation of historical films, including: "Masjid" (in collaboration with the Russian studio “Lendok”), "The Age of the Turks" (filmed with Turkish filmmakers), and other projects.
The "Mahtumkuli" film project drew particular attention. This year, under the auspices of UNESCO, the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet, philosopher, and classic of Turkmen literature, Mahtumkuli Fragy, will be widely celebrated.
At the project presentation, Saghysalykh Bayramov, Deputy Chairman of the “Turkmenfilm” association named after Oguz Khan and consultant to the project, spoke about the filming: "The idea of making a feature film about Mahtumkuli was put forward by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of his decree on celebrating the poet's jubilee in Uzbekistan. In accordance with this decree, the Agency for Cinematography under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan began work and proposed that the "Turkmenfilm" association jointly implement the project. The director was Muzaffar Erkinov. The lead role was played by Turkmen actor Ahmet Amundurdyev.
The presentation of the full-length feature film "Mahtumkuli" will take place in Turkmenistan at the international film festival of Turkic countries "Korkut Ata" in November of this year.
Following the work of the forum of the international cultural organization TURKSOY, memorandums were signed and the TURKSOY Forum resolution "New Renaissance: Cinema and Media in Support of Heritage" was adopted.
