A forum on the great heritage of the past is being held in Tashkent
An international media forum on the theme "Crossroads of Times: the Great Legacy of the Past — the basis of an enlightened future" began in Tashkent on November 28.
An important event was the transfer of facsimile copies of manuscripts stored at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation and the National Library of France. These are copies of the "Qur'an from Katta Langar", "Mirazhname", "The Code of Timur", "Rauzat-as-Safa" ("Garden of Purity"). They are created on paper types as close to the original as possible using gold inclusions, they are difficult to distinguish from genuine folios, the press service of the Tashkent Khokimit reports.
"These works are priceless examples of the Eastern Renaissance. "The Qur'an from Katta Langar" was written at the end of the VIII century in the Kufi-khizhozi script. The book of the representative of the Timurid dynasty Hussein Baykar "Sultan Hussein Baykar's Sofa" is decorated with artful miniatures," says Komiljon Rakhimov, a researcher at the Abu Rayhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
The book of the historian Mirkhond "Rauzat-as-Safa" tells about the prophets, about the history of the dynasties that ruled in the East. It is gratifying that this project is being implemented as part of the initiatives of the President of the country to return home unique samples of our historical and cultural heritage.
The next five books-albums included in the series "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in world collections" were presented at the conference. These collections tell about the masterpieces of the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. In particular, volume VI is dedicated to unique musical instruments and musical notes stored in the Museum of Musical Culture named after M. Glinka. Volume VII contains information about valuable monuments stored in the collections of the written heritage of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation.
Volumes VIII and X contain information about exhibits related to the history and culture of our people, stored in the State Hermitage Museum, the State Museum of History, the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art. An album (Volume IX) dedicated to the cultural heritage of the people, stored in the I. Savitsky State Museum of Karakalpakstan, was published for the first time. The book tells about the unique examples of the Turkestan avant-garde.
At the event, these collections were handed over to representatives of 136 museums and libraries from 49 countries.
The presentation of the documentary "Uzbekistan: Newfound Revelations" by the Russian TV channel "Culture" also made a great impression. For the first time, rare audio recordings made in the 20s of the last century in our country have been reproduced. They are kept in the funds of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg.
